Dogs Aren't Men - Buy NowRebecca Miller is a gifted veterinarian with an extraordinary understanding of animal behavior. She is leading a fulfilling life as the owner and operator of the Animal Friends Veterinary Clinic. Ever since her 30th birthday, her mother has made it her mission to help Rebecca find a man, get married, and give her grandchildren.

But Rebecca doesn’t see the need for a man in her life. She has her dog, Captain, and that’s all the companionship she needs. However, her world changes the day she literally runs into Derrick Peterson, a gorgeously handsome ER doctor.

Derrick’s experiences with women have taught him that they are vain, silly, and untrustworthy. He keeps his relationships with them brief and superficial. However, he finds himself being irresistibly drawn to Rebecca. She’s smart, witty, compassionate, and very different from the women he usually encounters.

And there’s someone out to get her…

Will Rebecca be the one to break down the wall he’s spent a lifetime building around his heart?

Who is Ben Carson? - Buy NowBenjamin Solomon Carson, Sr., is a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon. He has literally saved the lives of thousands of children, both through his own efforts and through procedures that he developed. Yet, he is a humble and caring man of faith and courage who boldly speaks truth to power when his convictions are at odds with the decisions of those in charge. He was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President George W. Bush. Yet, that was hardly the first time he was recognized for his contributions to the lives of so many.

Ben Carson first came to the attention of Republican political leaders when he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast in 2013. That message was delivered with the patient, even tones of a surgeon sharing a diagnosis with worried parents. He spoke out against abortion, on political correctness, on the foolishness of what became known as Obamacare, and a simple flat tax that was fair to all. He addressed the failure of the American system of education in the past hundred years as well. He said all this, with President Barack Obama seated nearby almost in arms reach. His composure and sincerity immediately caught the attention of conservative commentators and political pundits across the country.

Tag Powell wrote this book, hoping that Dr. Carson would become our next president, which didn’t happen this time around. However, Dr. Carson remains a major public figure whose contributions in politics and government will continue to be valued for years to come.

EBBT Editor’s Note: When I mentioned that it was Black History Month, and asked my daughter whose biographies she’d like to read, Dr. Ben Carson was at the top of her list.

The Stranger She Married - buy nowWhen her parents and twin brother die within weeks of each other, Alicia and her younger sister are left in the hands of an uncle who has brought them all to financial and social ruin. Desperate to save her family from debtor’s prison, Alicia vows to marry the first wealthy man to propose. She meets the dashing Lord Amesbury, and her heart whispers that this is the man she is destined to love, but his tainted past may forever stand in their way.

Her choices in potential husbands narrow to either a scarred cripple with the heart of a poet, or a handsome rake with a deadly secret.

Cole Amesbury is tormented by his own ghosts, and believes he is beyond redemption, yet he cannot deny his attraction for the girl whose genuine goodness touches the heart he’d thought long dead. He fears the scars in his soul cut so deeply that he may never be able to offer Alicia a love that is true.

When yet another bizarre mishap threatens her life, Alicia suspects the seemingly unrelated accidents that have plagued her loved ones are actually a killer’s attempt to exterminate every member of her family. Despite the threat looming over her, learning to love the stranger she married may pose the greatest danger to her heart. And Cole must protect Alicia from the killer who has been exterminating her family before she is the next target.

Eiathan's Heir - Order NowExcerpted from the book: Bjorn looked up between the buildings into the raindrops spattering in his face. Overhead loomed what appeared to be a clock tower. He blinked, wiped the wet off his lashes with the back of his hand, and squinted. The castle walls loomed nearer. He nudged Maeve, pointing up. “We’re nearly there. Now what?”

She whispered, “If we cross by twos and threes?”

He motioned his men ahead out of the inky shadows, Trehan among the first. The rain fell thicker, puddling around their soles as they stepped from the raised edge of the roadway down into the street. A hasp rasped across the square, then a door creaked. Bjorn nodded to himself, took Maeve’s arm and ventured the square. Hardly had they left the sheltering shadows behind when Maeve slipped on the cobbles and gasped.

“Easy,” Bjorn muttered. As he set her back on her feet, he risked an upward glance. A break in the clouds. Moonbeams turned the falling rain to sheets of liquid silver. He couldn’t see the top of the walls for the rain, though he fancied the guards would see him if they happened to look down.

Atop the walls, a sentry challenged and another answered, their words trailing off in a formless murmur.

“Quicker, my lady,” Bjorn urged. “The storm passes.”

A halloo from atop the wall made his heart leap with terror just as they arrived under the eaves of the warehouse…
